No Silver Bullet

Dear Friend,

If anyone wished there was a silver health bullet, it’s US.  It’s taken a real effort to become more health literate and integrate better lifestyle principles.  However, having now done so, we enjoy excellent health and ZERO medical bills.  It’s the best investment we’ve ever made.

Early on we strove for a wise diet and backed it up with loads of food supplements — like an antidote to cover any dietary stupidities.  Since ‘98 we’ve made more progress than during our first 30 yrs.  The key discovery is so simple; namely: health CANNOT be found in a pill, potion or promise; there’s no panacea and no “silver bullet.”  Vital are wisdom, consistency and persistence.  We pray this article will help in your own pursuit of better health.  Stay in touch!


No Silver Bullet


Ding-dang it all!

We always encourage hope and faith in miracles; indeed, in God Himself.  We also strive to bolster confidence in the body’s ability to survive in the face of abuse and to heal and restore itself when given even half a chance.  Prompted by the pharmaceutical-induced mentality that there’s a pill for every ill, we also remind you: aside from divine intervention, there is no single food or lifestyle change, that in and of itself will assure sound health.  Not even TopGreen.™

I’ve a related confession to make: I often tune into the evening TV news.  I call it the “Pharmaceutical Hour” because of the sheer glut of medicine ads viewers are pummeled with.  One commercial after another bombards viewers with supposed remedies for every real or imagined malady — impotence to flatulence.  If it weren’t so cruel to those who buy into their symptom-suppressing and health-debilitating tripe — it might actually be a funny show in itself.  Billions are being spent by pharmaceutical firms to foster a magic-pill mentality (reinforced by the stethoscope crowd).  Hear this: NO pill or potion can produce health!  Health requires several consistent, lifestyle ingredients.

Health’s Requirements

“Basic health constituents are: proper nutrition, plenty of fresh air, pure water, adequate sunlight, enough rest, sound sleep, low stress, emotional stability — plus a right relationship with God..  All these need be considered ... .”1

Another reason for reviewing this subject is that since introducing our own health drink (TopGreen™) in July, we’ve published many positive snippets from user’s conversations and letters.  Out of context, one could get the impression that it’s some sort of magical potion.  No way!  It’s simply very good and necessary nutrition.  Used by itself, with no other dietary or lifestyle changes, a user might notice little or no difference in how they feel or perform.  You see, although it contains nutrients that naturally produce the benefits of steroids, anti-inflammatories, pain killers, energy boosters, etc — it’s purpose is to enhance health, not suppress symptoms.  However, when coupled with any of the above “basic health constituents,” users always experience positive improvements in their health.  They work together to advance health — synergistically.


A Case History

A health-challenged couple in their 70’s had tried other diets and were using various food supplements when, 16 weeks ago, they started using TopGreen™.  Her persistent “bone aches” soon went away and their energy improved.  Encouraged, they introduced several other dietary and lifestyle changes:

•Eating more produce, raw
•Drinking more pure water
•Taking brisk morning walks
•Putting aside supplements
(Note the action words!)

Guess what?  Energy and endurance improved even more so and after 8 weeks, they jettisoned the supplements (and extra cost).  After having tried for years to lose weight by dieting, they now report it’s happening naturally.  Also, she claims to have the strongest fingernails ever and he — the lowest PSA reading yet.  It’s not so much that these have come about because of TopGreen™ or without diets or pharmaceuticals, but that they made positive lifestyle changes.  They all work together.

How it works

We must first understand that the body requires metabolic energy for everything and produces it from the food, air and water we take in.  The amount generated will be in direct proportion to the quality of that “fuel” — like an auto.  High octane fuel produces more energy than low (which can cause pinging and knocking).  So it is with our bodies: the higher quality its food-fuel, the more energy the body can extract from it.  Conversely, the less of it is required.  It’s not rocket science to accept that some foods are capable of producing more metabolic energy than others.  Also that some provide little on no energy (others actually diminish our reserves).  Let’s review that couple’s four conspicuous changes.

• Eating MORE fruits and veggies, and doing so RAW.  Two benefits immediately accrue: 1) the body can more quickly and efficiently convert plant-based foods into energy-producing glucose, and 2) raw foods come complete with the enzymes needed for the body to digest them (heat, etc. kills enzymes).

• Drinking MORE pure water also provides multiple benefits.  1) Water, more than being simply the body’s main transport medium, is required for every metabolic activity and most people are chronically dehydrated (seniors even more so).  Increasing the body’s water supply is as important as providing enough water for a car-wash, laundromat or a hospital.  It’s essential!  Water is used to both deliver nutrients to the body’s 100 trillion bio-furnaces (cells) through the bloodstream, as well as pick up their resultant debris for removal via the lymphatic system, liver, lungs, kidneys and skin.  More water means a greater ability for the body to flush toxins (poisons) from the system — so important when on a “cleansing” diet.  It’s also been demonstrated that the body produces GTP (brain energy) directly from water itself.2  The purity of the water we take in is another factor.  The purer — the greater its capacity to hold and remove waste, toxic and disease-producing materials from the body.  Then there is the subject of consuming LIVING vs dead water (for more about water, please request articles HN 4-6 and 4-7).

• A brisk morning walk has many benefits as well.  1) It massages the gravity-operated lymphatic system, enabling it to more efficiently deliver the body’s waste to the organs of elimination (liver, lungs, kidneys and skin);  2) it enhances bowel operation;  3) it promotes deeper breathing and greater oxygenation;  4) walking’s contralateral movement (alternating leg and arm motion) has a harmonizing influence on the entire system.  This is especially important as we age and tend to shift away from contralateral movements, towards a shuffle.  A brisk walk with arms swinging in rhythm with our legs will energize, refresh and help us sleep better — as can dancing, golf, swimming, bicycling, etc.3 Try 30 minutes, five days/week.

• Putting aside food supplements has two obvious benefits:  1) it frees up money to invest in real food and  2) protects the body from ingesting more dead, chemically-derived and often dangerous substances.  The ratio of ingredients within many are entirely unnatural — not to mention the combined effect of gulping handfuls (There are situations where, selectively, some can be helpful).3

The results

Is it any wonder that — that same couple now reports: “Before, we used to drag out of bed for coffee. Now, we hop out, take our TopGreen™ and are out walking by 6:35 AM — five days a week.  I never dreamed we could walk over 3 miles.  We have so much more energy!”  A 60-ish woman who’s made similar changes reports: ”I’m feeling so much better!  I am down to one medication (from 6) which I’m now taking just every other day; Lipitor for high cholesterol ... I’ve also lost 50 pounds!”

Thanks for sending the TopGreen™ so quickly!  We had cut down to 1 scoop, 3x/day — but my bones began hurting again.  So, we went back to 2 scoops and are doing much better. — Deming, NM
