— Health from a biblical perspective —
Dear health-minded Reader,
If you’re like most, diet, exercise and medications have dominated your health-related thoughts, with little attention given to water intake. Moreover, most believe that drinking any water-based beverage satisfies the body’s needs; a major cause of today’s national epidemic of chronic dehydration. Responsibility for widespread ignorance rests with the sick-care and pill-for-every-ill industries. In clear view of the truth, they promulgate the idea that water, beyond floating solutes, removing metabolic waste and space-filling, doesn’t play much of a health role. While they profit in dollars from this willfully errant view, its victims are paying with their health and lives.
Hopefully, this article will prompt you to research and rethink the subject. Please check out its foot notes.
Dehydration
What? & Why?
The ground-breaking discoveries of water researcher, Dr. Batmanghelidj, are: •metabolically, water is vastly more important than what’s dissolved in it and, •most all pain and disease are caused by the body trying to function in the face of long term, inadvertent dehydration. These profound insights, when translated into corresponding lifestyle changes, can absolutely revolutionize health.
Thanks in part to the very profitable bottled water trade, there’s a slowly growing awareness that most of us are dangerously dehydrated. It’s now commonplace to see young and old sipping a bottle of water (or water-plus). An encouraging start, though hardly sufficient to remedy the problem. Most need to drink 6 to 8 glasses a day just to break even and many sippers neither get enough nor imbibe at the most health-advantageous times. Moreover, along with upping intake, it’s vitally important to also increase one’s minerals — especially sodium and iodine. We will more fully explain Dr. Batmanghelidj’s hydration protocol in a future article. If you can’t wait, read the excellent resources at this article’s foot, or log onto his website: watercure.com.
The “What?”
Let’s make certain we understand exactly what the problem is before considering its consequences and remedies. Generically, the term “dehydration” describes the process by which the water portion of any substance (hydrate) is removed; concrete an example. Water is combined with cement, causing a chemical reaction and producing a slurry that, when dehydrated, forms a rock-like material. Instructively, it becomes essentially impervious to water’s further influence.
In an organic context, the drying of fruit serves better; we all know how dehydration affects it. Whether it be an apple, grape or plum, when water is removed, the result appears wholly unlike the original. It’s dry, hard, rubbery and wrinkled. Bear in mind, the “life” of fruit so destined, has first been ended by picking. It therefore better compares with a human mummy than a live body. However, unlike concrete, dried fruit CAN be re-hydrated, though not back to its original color, shape, texture, beauty or nutrition.
Similarly, when the body’s original 75-77% water content diminishes to the typical 66% in later years, it loses its plum-like beauty and more closely resembles a prune. The good news is that it TOO can be re-hydrated, though not exactly back to its original look or performance. As with concrete, once dehydrated, some biohydrates do not respond very fast or well (if at all) to more water. Functionally they become permanently impaired or destroyed.
An example of this is the condition: insulin-dependent (Type 1) diabetes. Chronic water deprivation can eventuate the body (defensively) killing off irreplaceable, insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Keep in mind, we’re not referring to a fleeting condition, but a very long-term shortage of the body’s second most vital element (oxygen being the first). As a result, the system progressively adapts to this unnatural state; physiologically, chemically, and eventually, genetically. Even the DNA becomes corrupted, leading to generational issues.
Symptoms of chronic dehydration are not evenly manifested. Although drought’s impact is systemic, the body’s survival tactics and signaling suggest the problem to be local or regional (lungs, joints, stomach, etc). Systemic in that blood volume drops by 8% and extracellular fluid by 26%, but the fluid inside the cells lose a whopping 66%. This 26/66 decrease can reverse the osmotic pressure gradient on the cell’s membrane and greatly impair its functioning. Cells require a greater external fluid pressure to “force-feed” them through their semi-permeable membranes. Glucose (sugar) their “food,” is actually the fuel each of these hundred trillion micro-furnaces use to produce (ATP) energy. It is “burned” (oxidized) by blood-supplied oxygen inside the cell; waste products being water, toxic carbon dioxide and ash. The lymph system services cells by continuously removing the waste which is eventually eliminated: CO2 via the lungs; ash and water through the kidneys and bladder.
Cells also convert water directly into energy with no waste. It does so via molecular hydro-electric “cation” (ca’-tee-on) pumps within their membranes. This “GTP” energy is especially used by the brain. The two types of energy might be compared with those generated by coal and natural gas: ATP deriving from “dirty” fuel (food) while GTP comes from a ‘clean’ source; water. Their bio-environmental impact are also similar.
All ingested solids; every metabolic activity and chemical process requires water. It’s used to •generate energy •cleanse the body of waste and to •keep cells from withering. Its lack renders cells “prune-like” that limits their functioning and usefulness. Depending upon their systemic importance, when so impaired and without assurance of adequate water supply, the brain’s survival program can cause those cells to be cannibalized for their remaining water. This process, when continued, destroys increasingly vital cells, tissues and organs. To prolong its “life”, the body gradually sacrifices itself (sermon?).
All this degeneration doesn’t happen without ample notice. At every stage of deepening dehydration, the body pleads for water, but we perennially mis-construe its cries for everything from hunger to disease. Some are labeled “allergies,” others “asthma” — both signals for more water. Our bodies are thirsty! “Constipation,” “hypertension” and “Type 2 diabetes” are but three more desperate thirst signals. “Lupus,” a rampant version of the cannibalistic survival tactic described and other autoimmune disorders are also parched and urgent cries: “Pleeeese — give me a drink! I’m dying of thirst.”
The “Why?”
Not drinking enough water and wholesale addiction to diuretics. That may sound strange in view of the fact that many people drink quarts of “fluid” a day. It’s commonplace to take in 2-6 cups of coffee or tea, several soft drinks, alcohol and/or some juice. One might think that would be enough to satisfy the body. But it isn’t. Here’s why: when dehydrated, every ounce of the body’s water is committed. What’s desperately needed is “free” water; water not “bound” or in solution with other substances. It takes energy to filter out solutes and it needs water to generate energy; a “Catch-22”. Additionally, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks are diuretics. Guzzle a 12 oz can of diet or regular soda, and 14 get excreted; the same with tea, coffee, beer, etc. Because of their diuretic effect and extra energy loss in filtering these drinks, not only are the body’s water needs not met, they are further depleted.
Thirsty Beware!
You are NOT sick, merely dehydrated! Insurance, medical, pharmaceutical & federal agencies have incestuously constructed a hugely profitable business that’s dependent upon a steady input of raw material: sickly bodies. Each have huge reason to keep the status quo: a 2-trillion-dollar annual river of cash. Very few of its victims ever get cured. Most become life-long addicts to outrageously priced, toxic chemical palliatives that will further sicken the body. They are poisons taken in small doses to briefly mask the body’s thirst signals. Doubt it? Take the entire prescription and you (likely your kin) will prove the point. Many lose health (even life!) to this unconscionable, money-motivated system. In fact, its flagship publication, “Journal of the American Medical Association” (JAMA) admits to killing at least 300,000 each year.
To live longer and healthier, YOU must take primary responsibility for your health. Start learning how via the excellent resources below.

Here’s my order for “Dr. B’s” water educational materials; thanks! — Prescott, AZ
The water information is solid and I am applying your hard-earned research. Here’s a little something to offset your postage to us. — Medford, OR.
We are now drinking lots more water and taking more sea salt. — Amarillo, TX.
I shared the water information with a friend who read it front to back right away and was grateful. — VA Beach,VA
Please ship us two more containers of TopGreen. — New York City, NY
Why do you recommend drinking 16 oz of water of upon arising? — Prescott, AZ
Good question! To replace overnight loss; flush catabolic (waste) debris; rev up peristalsis to encourage a BM; prepare the stomach and intestines to receive food; generate (GTP) energy; alkalize the body, etc. (I also add TopOxy™ to mine; 3x/day). — ed
I’ve heard that using hydrogen peroxide along with toothpaste is a good idea; what do you think? — Phoenix, AZ
Great! We do — plus add it to our drinking & bath water, veggie wash, etc. We recommend it with this CAVEAT: use food-grade (USDA) rather than pharmaceutical (USP). Food grade hydrogen peroxide is safe for internal use; USP is not. It contains toxic stabilizers (i.e., aluminum) with linkage to neurological diseases (Alzheimer’s, etc). There’s also concern that USP grade can react with amalgam tooth fillings to release mercury into one’s system. We’ll discuss these and the manifold health-benefits and many other uses of food-grade H2O2 in our up-coming series on oxygenation. — ed.
