The Bible is God’s Word
Ultimate self-revealing source of wisdom and truth
Books often portray the thoughts and intents of authors, revealing what’s in their minds and hearts — equally true in the religious realm. This includes, but is not limited to, the Bhagavad Gita, Book of The Dead, Qu’ran, Talmud and those deriving from Catholicism, Mormonism, Buddhism, other “isms,” the Bible, its paraphrases, commentary and etc.
However, of the world’s billions of books, ONE stands alone: the Bible — as does its author, the all-wise Creator of everything: the one and only true God. Parceling its content to 40 penman over a period of 1500 years, it is ordered into two parts of 39 and 27 booklets (Old and New Testaments). The Old targets His natural “elect” (Israel) — the New, His spiritual “elect” (Church). Separated by time, purpose and divine forms of government, it progressively reveals God and His loving intentions toward man. Having been dictated to anointed scribes appointed by God’s Holy Spirit, the Bible (scripture) is His “Word” and will. It has stood for millennia as the sole, irrefutable source of infallible, written truth (Jn 1:1; 17:17b; 2Tim 3:16; Ps 100:5).
The Bible is also the singular book providing for a tutor: God’s Holy Spirit Whom He imbeds in every Christian; much as a software “cookie.” The Spirit then becomes each believer’s Teacher, leading him/her into understanding of scripture. Therefore, NO extra-biblical resource is required (Jn 16:13,14). It’s also the only book that unerringly predicts the future; another distinctive.
Being self revealing, the Bible has no peers & requires no help from man. God therefore sanctions no self interpretations by any denomination, movement, ministry or person — be it via The Message, Qu’ran, Vedas, Talmud, Vatican, TBN, HRM, ECM, JSSR, etc. (2Pet 1:20). At the risk of His wrath, He also warns to not edit, add to or take away from His Word (Rev 22:18,19).
But Spirit-God went further by humanly manifesting Himself as His Son, Jesus, thereby personifying the written Word (Rev 19:13). Then, as the highest expression of love, He sacrificed Jesus (the Word) to pay the price for man’s sinfulness. In effect, the Word died so we might live. Christians are now also called to sacrifice: to surrender self-will to God’s and live according to His written word ... as enabled by the Holy Spirit (Gal 2:20;5:6).
Please be reminded: this same Bible repeatedly warns of today’s proliferation of false teachers and against following worldly wisdom or religions, however wise sounding. God-pleasing living and an eternal destiny with Him depend upon our application of the pure Word. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ... sweeter also than honey." (Ps 119:105; 19:10)
