— Spiritual food for today —

Are you secure?

When life’s norms are being tossed about and dependables swirl, even bold ones want something solid to grab.  Thank God for His Word! Anchored in bedrock ‘neath today’s sea of uncertainty, is the sure hope and security of Scripture.  It is changeless; the epitome of stability; the unquestionably dependable, everlastingly true, inexhaustibly gracious, unfathomably loving, infinitely powerful and the entirely just will of our sovereign, Almighty God.  His Word, made Alive in us by the Spirit, has the power to keep us from capsizing or being blown away.  When all about is chaos ... God’s Word remains our anchor.  Our security.

Perhaps like yourself, intermittently throughout many nights, we pray and one concern always stands in line ... the safety of dear ones.  Born-again or not, most believe they’re Christians and try to live righteously.  Some do church, Bible studies, good deeds, devotionals, etc..  We pray they are regenerated and will endure when times get rough.  That day is coming when America’s lifestyle will be plundered and from every quarter there is lack, loss, threats and difficulty; when compromising will be required to, say ... get enough food or any kind of rice-n-rent-earning job.  Will any of us persevere in the faith?  Scripturally for certain, only born-agains will live eternally with the Bible’s holy God.

“Of COURSE I will!” — all want to shout.  However, only God knows how we each will fare.  Personally, we’ve ALREADY given up hope in our ability to handle the future.  No WAAY!  Ah, but the good news is, in HIS power; in Christ, we can triumph.  For the Holy Spirit reminds,  "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Phil 4:13).  To this extent, all can know the future: those firmly anchored in the Word, will be victorious in His sight.  How’s THAT for security?!  May this simple though profound truth bolster your hope, encourage you to pursue, guard and covet your divine love/servant relationship.  Let’s be good stewards of time’s remnant to seek God with ALL our hearts.  He desires to secure us today, in tomorrow’s tempest ... and for eternity.
