Love FOR God

Ah! ... the “love month.”  The one in ‘75 when we two met and later became (and remain) one in Christ.  That, we will surely celebrate!  However, featured will not be our weak and tepid brew of God’s love.  Under imagined banners blaring: “God loves you!” we will be celebrating His 100-proof, Divine Love Tonic.  We’ll be dancing, rejoicing, praying and thanking the Lord for His mercy, forgiveness, grace and patience.

Our party of two (likely at the kitchen table) will be dominated by expressions of love for Him. We’ll clap hands, bow our knees, sing praises, recite His Word and worship in all ways held decent by the Spirit. Instead of imbibing on champagne, caviar and crack, it’ll be grape juice and crackers. We’ll be fools in love before Him, because He first loved us and forgives our sin. He also desires, commands, commends and enables us to so honor Him. Here are a few of many scriptures to that effect:

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” (Deu 6:5)

“Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.” (Deu 11:1)

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.” (Ps 5:11)

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” (Mt 22:37,38)

“And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” (Mk 12:33)

Being the “love month”, we remind of our love for you and yours, to the extent we know you and are enabled by His love.  Surely, we want to know and love you more this year.  To that end, please do share more of your life with us.
