Pray Today!

I’ve told all about you, Lord
about your mighty fame;
extolled your many virtues
lifted up your name.

I’ve detailed your saving Gospel
told about your grace;
shared the wondrous stories
the beauty of your face.

I’ve published your many truths
followed day by day;
advertised your goodness
but — I forgot to pray!

In my zeal to tell your story
I wholly spent the day;
used all that you gave me
but — I forgot to pray!

I spent my time allotment
on talk and words of praise;
but I never found the carpet
to kneel and humbly pray.

Oh my God!  My loving Saviour
forgive me this today.
Quicken me by your Spirit
to publish, praise and pray!
