Morning Prayer

Oh God, it’s with thanksgiving
I approach in the safety of Your love.
Expectantly I bow
before Your throne of grace.
My prayers target Your heart
like arrows of faith.

Before the sun arises, O Lord
my petitions You shall hear.
Lead me according to Your will
in the stillness of dawn, my God.
Make Your way straight before me
so my life today portrays Your heart.

You bless with unending favor
and surround as with a shield.
Your lovingkindness never ends
and Your mercy endures forever.
Your Spirit indwells my heart
and He will never forsake me.

O, give heed to my heart’s cry
and consider my supplications.
Respond to the needs of my soul,
my Saviour, Redeemer and my God.
For only to You do I pray
in the morning, O Righteous One.
