Only God knows

Christy was on our guest list to this year’s Christmas Fellowship; we’d met briefly and wanted to know her better.  Her Christian bumper sticker had caught my eye and I paused to muse over it.  Immediately, Christy was out of her car, at my side and with minimal prompting, was soon giving her salvation testimony.  This 30-ish package of zeal had been born-again for about 90 days and what she lacked in doctrinal understanding, she made up with enthusiasm (en-theos: God within).

Our invitation elicited a phone call in which a relative revealed that Christy had died 10 days after our brief meeting.  In shock, we praised God for His merciful saving grace.  Selah.
