Strangers & Pilgrims

Years of itinerant ministry while living in a trailer, helped us better understand what “sojourners” and “pilgrims” are.  Both words connote a transient lifestyle; visitors who soon move on.  (The I.R.S. categories full-time “RVers” as, “moderately affluent homeless”.) Earmarks of pilgrims are those who, for the short term, reside and function in a locale but do not assume its values, customs and culture.

The Bible calls God’s people “strangers and pilgrims” (Heb 11:13).  Are you a pilgrim en-route to a heavenly “city”, or is your heart and soul still bound to the world?
