Pigs in the Garden

Having not seen a wild pig (actually, “javelina”) all summer, I didn’t bother repairing a rickety 5-foot section of the fence protecting our back yard. Well, last night, with the garden in its prime, a family of pigs broke through and made havoc of the cucs, squash, tomatoes, etc.  The cost of complacency!

Similarly, our soul’s enemy is constantly testing our spiritual (de)fences; always looking for a weak spot by which to gain entry — to deceive, disrupt and destroy.  We join with Paul in reminding that attacks not only spring from our darkened blind side, but from brightly lit pulpits too.  Be vigilant!
