The recession is over!

(... now get ready for depression)

National leaders and experts have repeatedly declared the recession to be over; that Nobel prize brilliance wrested the economy from the jaws of certain demise. Coming right from the President, academia-credentialed Czars and delivered by an objective :) media ... it must be true.  Right?

Not convinced?  Weeell ... the actual 17% unemployment detail and your post-bailout-but-still-upside-down mortgage ARE a bit troubling.  But, hey; don’t be so hasty or hard on the intelligentsia; cut ‘em some slack.  They’ve got it all figured out and besides, 3 TRILLION dollars doesn’t go all that far these days; ya know?  That’s only 3 million million dollars (3 thousand billion, if you like).

OK!  So another round of ARM mortgage foreclosures is set to begin in September.  But the guv’ment just won’t allow that.  Before an election?!  C’m-onn!  But, if you choose to side with nay-sayers who think there’s risk that January’s tsunami of new guv’ment regs and taxes might suck umph from the economy, that’s up to you.  Just consider all the proletarian good that will derive from the Tax Czar’s extra $465/year from every two-pack-a-day smoker.  It ALONE is enough to create “Change you can believe in” (sorry to end in a preposition ... just quoting).

Granted, capital is fleeing the U.S. like proverbial ship rats before 2011’s dollar dunking with its inflation and higher interest rates.  But, ya need to trust the eddycated; they’ve worked the problem and found an amazing LOOPHOLE (how fortuitous to have one whose party nomination marked the day the planet began to heal and seas stop rising).  Here’s the loophole: BUY PROSPERITY!  In fact, buy up the whole nation by simply printing more money; er, “QE” (quantitative easing). Then, put everyone back to work for the green guv’ment elite who know how to run things better’n anybody (smile Mao).  Why, just look at the SS, IRS, Fannie, Freddie, FDA, DMV, FEMA, border security, immigration, etc.  R-e-a-l-l-y  helpful!

Back to economic Sanity

Such fiscal thinking and social ideology is a mockery of reason!  Those in touch with reality know 2+2=4 and if you always fudge it to make 12, you are going to have problems.  So it is with chronic deficit spending, plus ... borrowing more to fix the debt(?!).  That long promised pay-up day is here and guess what?  Nobody’s got ‘nuf cash; not the Jones’, banks, Wall Street or D.C..  Nor do Italy, Portugal, Greece, England, Spain, Ireland, etc.  The West is nearly broke; also debt-saturated.  NOT good!

Some of America’s last remaining wealth is in retirement funds which the Fed is in the process of looting by printing (oops!) “QE” to pay its bills.  Since each new buck dilutes those in circulation ... they buy less.  Though called inflation, it’s the gradual way nations default on paying debts; they devalue their currency.  Effectually, citizen’s wealth is confiscated to fund federal fiscal foolishness. It’s a tax on everything. Bailout, stimulus and tax meds buy time, but toxic side effects sap economic vitality, tending toward disaster. Historically, when this deep in debt, financial collapse follows; be it individual, Inc, state or nation.

All this suggests tumultuous times lie ahead: social unrest, ethnic clashes, political extremism, depression, poverty and warfare.  But God assures: "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. ... I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Heb 13:5a,6; Rom 8:38,39).  Trust Him!

These are signals for the soon return of Jesus and His righteous rule, after today’s birth pangs and tomorrow’s tribulation pain.  But first: His wrath must be satisfied, evil purged and the planet prepped.  "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Mt 25:13).

Time is short!

• Cash out,  • Cut debt,  • Balance budget,  • A bike,  • 4 cyl car,  • Pray a lot,  • Share the Gospel.
