"Progressives" (Marxist/Fascist/Socialist/Liberal ideologues) have seized the U.S. ship of state and are racing it toward a Niagara-sized Fall.

Introduction

As a pastor/teacher, my charge is to help build up, encourage and equip God's people for responsible Christian living and to that end, it is hoped this article will be useful.  It is intended to help Christians navigate these difficult times and prepare for more tumultuous ones ahead.  Some of its statements are intentionally blunt and might even seem extreme, however, their purpose is to impact and inform; surely not to injure or engender fear.  They are also accurate to the best of my knowledge.  Reluctantly written, it's a work of love especially for those who do not have the time or means to ferret out, analyze and homogenize information generally absent from (or twisted by) today's corrupt media.  For space conservation, much source ascription is not included, though available upon request.   (Tip: you can avoid a dose of unpleasant news and get right to the encouraging part, by scrolling down a few paragraphs.)

I must confess, this subject has triggered pangs of patriotism and conscience

I'm an 8-year veteran of the Korean period who, for many a mile, proudly bore the Standard before our troops.  I am hugely grateful for the good fortune of citizenship in the U.S.A., also eternally thankful concerning my registration in God's Kingdom. As a former military man and now peon in God's army, I especially respect and submit to authority: Almighty God's, America's President/Commander and Chief and downward chain of command.  However, since the President flagrantly violates his oath of office, this veteran/citizen questions the legitimacy of his authority; hence, the "conscience" issue.  That notwithstanding, to traffic in the following data concerning a sitting president, is repulsive; committing them to print: abhorrent.  Nonetheless, having pledged allegiance to the highest of all authorities, I must conscientiously teach the truth concerning issues which intersect my realm of responsibility.  Though the following style is that of biased journalism, please know it is birthed from a heart of love for God, sadness for America, and respect for the office of the President of these frayed United States.

What's happening in America?

Nearly a century ago, Vladimir Lenin, a collective agitator and disciple of revolutionary Chernychevsky, led the Bolsheviks in overthrowing the Russian government.  He then rapidly assembled a bureaucratic authority that became a totalitarian fist to brutally rule over the USSR for some 70 years.  Falling victim to a charismatic revolutionary who deceitfully led them into captivity of a Marxist-Communist dictatorship,  Russian citizens lost their country, prosperity, religious and most other freedoms.

But, Marxism and its Nazi cousin, Fascism, did not end with the Soviet Union or Third Reich’s demise.  Intermarrying with Socialism, they cohabit under the blanket of "Progressive" — the religion of the ultra-left, featuring Barack Hussein Obama, an Islamic-leaning community organizer and evangelical Marxist allegedly born in Kenya, Africa.  He, sharing Lenin’s dream, sat for decades at the feet of certified George Soros type Socialists and America haters: the irreverent Jeremiah Wright and radicals, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers, et al.  As did Lenin, this President is creating a team of activist “Czars,” bureaucrats and programs that gut the Constitution, usurp State authority, stifle industry, nationalize production, empower Big Brother and re-distribute wealth as in a Marxist-Socialist society.  Their ilk would summarily have been turned away at Ellis Island for seditious ideology and hostility towards American ideals. Many hate God, democracy, capitalism and individualism; in a just system they would be in custody ... not office.  However, they've slithered into positions of authority and the same (Marx-Nietzche-Heidegger) values that brought rise to Nazi Germany, now animate this elitist ruling class. Their conspicuous contempt for the rule of law is, at best, malfeasance; more likely, criminal or traitorous.  Moreover, by circumvention of constitutional checks and balances, a foundation for an egregious future abuse of power is daily being cemented.

Worrisome socio-economic news

If the consensus of common economic indicators and analyses of our sources proves correct, within a year, many Americans will not know what hit them.  In view, are soaring taxes and prices, more home and job losses even as public services are cut; deep recession, civil disorder and racial strife fomented by the Alinskys (media included).  Heaped upon this burden, is alarm over fascistic federal conduct, a fusillade aimed at family, business, free speech, privacy, Christianity and other liberties.  There's also the global and security impact of the odious “change” diet crammed down America’s gullet.  The U.S. is being profoundly weakened, which does not bode well for world stability or national security.

Clearly, the nation has been taken hostage by extreme radicals who use government power, crises, racism, law-breaking, intimidation, thuggery, deceit and tax-payer money — mostly for social engineering (Alinsky’s script).  But we need recognize that America’s enemy is not new or constrained to Washington, D.C..  Malignant Fascisim is also the engine driving the Emergent Church and "Green" ecology movements.  Their ideology is identical to that which brought rise to Hitler's Nazis Germany.  For generations it has burrowed deeply into every facet of society.  It is now fair to state that the media, education and entertainment sectors are but staging areas for further assault against the tattered remnants of America's traditional values (ask seniors about them; they remember).  The enemy of everything good and godly has captured the minds and hearts of 2-3 generations ... 53% of which voters (figuratively) spread palm fronds at the feet of their audacious "savior" in November 2008.  However, after having rejected God in the 60s, the festering malignancies of national immorality, civil rebellion, entitlementitis (in short, rampant "sin") had already metastasized.  But millennia ago, the Spirit of God ordered the prophet Isaiah to record America's present dilemma and destiny (see chapter 30).

The country's faltering economic vitals point to years and more years of hardship.  Though interest rates are near zero and a TRILLION or so has been blown on “stimulus” (patronage) — 8 million are jobless, the national debt lept 50% in two years ... yet the economy is STILL in Intensive Care.  Worse, it's on a 1930s Great Depression trajectory.  Should historic economic models hold, the next recession is expected by October.  In fact, more than one respected analyst believes America has but two years to drastically alter its economic course to avoid catastrophic collapse.  For certain, Washington WILL keep it on life support until the elections.  Even now, they are preparing to print as much as FIVE TRILLION dollars of play money as a last resort (euphemistically called "quantitative easing").  It's to induce another economic "high" and help keep green elitists in power.  But, don’t be surprised if D.C. and the Pavlovian media mainline raw RACISM as an election tactic, with many dissenters being labeled "racist." Nor should we be taken back at a contrived Sept-Oct “crisis” to profoundly impact the political landscape ... even the election process itself.  Then there's the ominous possibility of a post-election "lame duck" Congress, shamelessly ramming through more unwanted socialist legislation.

NO worldly action called for

Lest you think this is a call to social or political action, it is not.  With Jesus as our example and due regard for believers otherwise persuaded, Christians are NOT to dabble in world affairs.  As the Apostle Paul reminded young Timothy: "No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (2Tim 2:4).   According to our Lord, even in the face of great personal need or loss, we are to do quite the opposite of the worldly minded: "... seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Mt 6:33).  We can trust God for our daily needs, just as confidently as we have for our soul’s eternal security; He will never leave or forsake us (Heb 13:5).  Concerning God's protection, WISE King Solomon wrote: "Whoso hearkeneth unto me (God) shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil ... The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe" (Prov 1:33; 29:25).  Jesus said, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore WISE as serpents, and harmless as doves" (Mt 10:16).  That wisdom suggests we:

• • Study Scripture, pray, obey, support the church, share our testimony and Gospel of salvation.
• • Pray for this nation's leadership according to 1Timothy 2:1-4.
• • Get REAL tight with Father, Son and Holy Ghost!
• • Closely network with a few earnest believers (home church, cell group, etc.).
• • Ditch the retail news media and get plugged into more honest and informative sources.
• • Get economical transportation (4-cylinder car, motorcycle, scooter, bicycle ... sneakers :).
• • Reduce debt, overhead and cost of living.
• • Sell gas guzzlers (Now!) and non-essentials (convert them to a cash stash).
• • Wean yourself from government subsidies (I know, I know ... that's a toughie).
• • As the Spirit leads, give, give, give of yourself, your time and your substance (2Cor 9:6-15).

Let the words of Psalm 91 comfort you

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath

known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation."

Should Christians speak out?

More than 50 years ago, A.W. Tozer, answered thusly: "There are times when it is a sin to be at peace.  There are circumstances when there is nothing to do but stand up and vigorously oppose.  To wink at iniquity for the sake of peace is not proof of superior spirituality; it is rather a sign of reprehensible timidity which dares not oppose sin for fear of the consequences, for it will cost heavily to stand up for the right when the wrong is in the majority, which is one hundred percent of the time.

"We have developed in recent times a peace-loving, soft-spoken, tame and harmless brand of Christian of whom the world has no fear and for whom it has little respect.  We are careful, for instance, never to speak in public against any of the false cults lest we be thought intolerant.

"We dare not open our mouths against the Catholic (insert invader de jour - ed.) invasion of America lest we stir up controversy; we fear to talk against the destructive sins of modern civilization for fear someone will brand us as bigoted and narrow.  Little by little, we have been forced off the hard earth into a religious cloudland where we are permitted to wing our harmless way around like swallows at sundown, saying nothing that might stir the ire of the sons of this world.

"That neo-Christianty, which seems for the time to be the most popular, is very careful not to oppose sin.  It wins crowds by amusing them, and its converts by hiding from them the full implications of the Christian message, and carries on its projects after the ballyhoo methods of American business.

"Well might we paraphrase Wordsworth and cry, 'Elijah, thou shouldest be living at this hour.  America has need of thee.'  We stand in desperate need of men like Elijah who will dare to face up to brazen sinners who dictate our very way of life. Sin in the full proportions of a revolution or a plague has all but destroyed our civilization while church people have played like children in the marketplace.

"What has happened to the American Christian?  Have we lost the spirit of discernment till we can no longer recognize our captors?  How much longer will we hide in the caves while Ahab and Jezebel continue to pollute the temple and ravage the land?"

At the risk of inviting a charge of masochism, sadism or lunacy — in my view the current U.S. president is God's man for these times.  That opinion is founded upon a body of scripture which portrays this once-great nation as inconsequential at the close of this age.  Even as those scriptures so accurately foretold the demise of this world's greatest empire (British) — so it details the end-game decline of its single most prosperous and powerful nation: the United States of America.  Indeed, the only power blocs I scripturally discern on the last days landscape are European, Mid-east and Asiatic.  Furthermore, I can imagine no more capable cabal of rogues to destroy this nation, than those presently in Federal control, accompanied by their disloyal "opposition."

Be fortified by Psalm 46

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though

the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God,

the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

Jesus reassures the Church

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have ovbercome the world" (Jn 16:33).  Rejoice! ... and be at peace in Him.
